Childrens Wall Stickers

I thought we put a great deal of thought into what colour to paint the walls in our home. It was going to be a theme of sorts where all the pastel colours more or less blended from one room to the next until finally the last room was completely different to the first one. I wanted to blame it on my amateur artist wife but in actual fact the two of us found the idea on the internet.

What we didn’t want was something that looked dull and boring so we went for unusual pastel colours. Beth said it was the ‘cool kid’s crayon box’ we used as a template and in a way it was not your ordinary crayon colours. We had a cotton candy pink, frosted lemon yellow and liberal lime green but all in pastel shades. It made the interior of the house just burst with energy.

The only room we did not follow through with this colour scheme was the baby’s room. I wanted it to stay off white so I could use it to project pictures and scenes with the use of an overhead projector borrowed from the high school audio visual class ‘discard’ pile. It worked great and I thought we could use it to teach Madeline some cool things. Well, that was up until the neighbours came over. I explained my plan with drinks after dinner and Barry stared at one of the bedroom walls as if it was telling him something.

“So, why don’t you skip this altogether and jump into the future?” Barry stated to no one in particular then went on about childrens wall stickers he saw somewhere online thinking I was a few steps behind already. I liked the removable sticker idea much more than mine and as it turned out, so did the children.
